10 and 11 Months

"Yep, you now have two teeth poking through.  You started clapping this month.  We did not even teach you that so I am unsure where you picked it up.  Still not crawling, and you take decent naps but have been waking Daddy and I up a lot during the night!  Just a couple days ago, you started playing pass/catch.  You pick up a ball and drop/throw it and we pass it back and you repeat.  For some reason, this is extra impressive to me.  You and Daisy are becoming better friends.  She sits under your high chair while you eat just waiting for you to drop food and you like to stare at her doing so.  Also when I let you have a snack cracker in the living room, you like to let Daisy lick your fingers!  This month you really discovered the radio.  You light up when I turn it on, and looove to push all the buttons.  You even started dancing to the music, which is just about the cutest thing in the whole wide world.  It seems like you are picking up on new things all the time and it is so much fun!"
"What a big month!  Daddy got a new job in Fort Wayne...so we moved to a new house.  Your grandmas and grandpas that live in Muncie and New Castle are sad they do not get to see you as much, but we are having a lot of fun in our new city.  We have started attending library story time here.  You love to look at all the other babies, but I think your personality is a little shy...which is totally great.  (We just gotta get others to understand that.)  You have learned a lot of new skills with your toys.  You can put a ball in a basket, put toys into baskets and pails (and shoes and cups and lots of other things), stack blocks 3-4 high, and other cool things.  You learned to clap and wave this month too.  Super cute, although I feel sad when you wave at strangers and they do not wave back because they don't see you.  Also, you learned to sit up from a laying down position. O man...you really did learn a lot this month!!! You get so proud of yourself when you do something new...Daddy and I are real proud too. Still not crawling, but getting around in your own way.  You now have two top teeth peeking through, so I am trying to get over not being able to see your big toothless grins anymore.  Love you, Munch!"

This is what getting Levi's 10 month old diaper photo looked like...

And this is the one we went with...after putting him back in his place for the nth time, my camera around my neck smacked him in the head...Hey he stayed still! (JK I am not a cruel mom I promise...but seriously how cute is he?)
The 11 month photo didn't go so well either....he was just grumpy this time.  Poor guy!

Rainbow Felt

I made a rainbow felt ball garland for our little downstairs bathroom.  It will also have some other rainbow art in it. I love rainbows :)

I also made a couple felt garlands with other colors for one of our wall shelves in the living area.  Simple and cute fun craft!

PS Notice the difference in the last two photos of incandescent light versus natural light.  Ewwy yellow versus beautiful white.  There are no windows in the bathroom.
PSS This is my 100th post...go me!

A Zoo and Pizza

It has been quite the action packed weekend for our little family, and we still have a day to go!  We did a little more Fort Wayne exploring.  Friday, Levi and I met Ben for lunch at Baan Thai (restaraunt).  It was delicious as expected, very similar to Thai Smile in Muncie.  We had an awesome waitress also.  Levi and I then explored the shopping mall where the restaurant was-it was mostly chains.  I did find some sandals at Platos Closet...have been looking for sandals since March so I was pretty excited.  We also went in the Cookie Cottage.  I was hoping it was one of those places where you choose your dough and mix ins, then they bake the cookie for you. It wasn't.  It was a cookie bakery...the cookies were delicious by the way.

Ben got off work early, and decided to use the time to visit the flower shop down the road, and bring his wife her favorite flower...sigh...what a sweetie husband I have.

Then today we went to the ZOO...We could not wait any longer....everyone talks about the Fort Wayne Zoo...Have you been yet?  It was fun, even though Levi was sleepy...he enjoyed seeing all the animals and people.  I think his favorites were the goats, sharks, lion, ostrich...and a couple other oddball animals.  He waved at a lot of the animals, but they didn't wave back :(  Ben and I loved the sea lion show and the giraffes...you can actually feed the giraffes.  How cool is that?  I wanted to pet the giraffe, but the zoo guy says she does not like to be pet.  Sad day.  Levi was so exhausted at the end of the day...between us deciding we were leaving and actually making it to the exit, he was zonked out in the stroller :)

We had a picnic lunch...so that means something off of our list.
62.            Go on a picnic.
Oh and while we are at it. Marking this one off...the point was to go to A zoo soo...
44.            Go to the Indianapolis Zoo. 6/2/2012
Hi ostrich!

We also checked out Oley's Pizza.  Urbanspoon.com and our internet guy seem to think it is the best pizza in Fort Wayne.  They specialize in deep dish.  Apparently, there are two locations, but one of them is not the original, they just bought the name...quite deceptive.  We made it to the original on US 24.  It is in a rinky dink strip mall seemingly in the middle of nowhere.  But it was delicious!!!  And great service.  We will definitely go back.
The website says it can take 45 minutes to make a pizza because they are deep dish so we brought distraction toys.  Ben came up with the brilliant idea to make a snack-mobile out of Levi's pick up truck...Levi could care less...he just wanted the food!

Phew I am tired!
