The Jacksons

Dustin, a very awesome friend from high school, asked me to take photos of his little family.  It was a Mother's Day gift for his also awesome wife Nicole.  (Perfect gift by the way.)  The show stealer was Damon who just turned three (today) and is the most awesome in the family.  Seriously, he is great---and was a very cooperative almost three year old for  pictures.  I needed cooperative that day...because despite the weather saying it was not going to rain...rain was falling from the sky.  It rained off and on the whole time I was there so we kept running in and out.  Of course rain means it is darker out, so we had to make do with very little light.  Seriously, sunny all day...and sun came back out within an hour of me leaving.  Either way, they rocked it and we had fun.  I am in love with the photos of the three of them in front of their house.  Are you kidding me??!?!

Oh...and by the way, there were actually four family members in these photos.  One is super tiny, and hiding in Nicole's uterus ;)  Mommy and Damon picking out baby names...

Toddler In Bed

I took these photos on the Nikon F100 film camera back in February...it took me that long to get them developed.  I tried out a reputable lab, Indie Film Lab, this time instead of Walgreens.  They are better, but I am not sure twice the price better.  Sadly, I no longer have my F100...I returned it a couple times because of flaws...and never re-bought it.  I may get it again when I have more money because it is a lot of fun!  Here are some photos of Levi playing on our bed. I had to use a super slow shutter speed and the F100 does not have fast enough autofocus for a toddler so I switched back and forth between auto and manual focus---hence blur and missed focus.  I love them anyways...the charm of film.  (I have more photos from the roll for another post or two.)

Put flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in bowl.

Eat chocolate chips.

Stir dry mixture.

Have Mommy beat softened butter and cinnamon in bowl until creamy.
Add sugar little by little while Mommy blends.  Add egg while Mommy blends.

Add the dry mixture a little at a time while Mommy blends.

Fold in pureed bananas and yummy chocolate chips.

Line muffin pan with paper liners.

 Spoon in batter.

 Eat more chocolate chips.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 18-20 minutes.

Take a break. Drink milk. Play peek-a-boo.

Taste test number one.

Day two. Make icing. (Can easily be made in one day, he just had a play date to get to.)
Put powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and butter in bowl.

Eat even more chocolate chips.

Have Mommy boil heavy cream and pour over chocolate chips.

Stir icing until fully melted and mixed.
Put in fridge to cool.

Sneak into kitchen and conduct another taste test.

 Ice cupcakes.

Lick spoon with melted chocolate chips.

Give to Daddy.

If you ever forget what to do next, just eat chocolate chips.

*You can find the full recipe here.  I recommend half the icing recipe for a full batch of the cupcakes.  These are delish!
